I am going to comment on Kuok Kam's recent blog post about emotional blackmail. It was posted on the 17tth of August 2010.

I agree with Kuok Kam, saying the the use of emotional blackmail by Emily and on Richard is harming Richard instead of helping him. Indeed, emotional blackmail is a great tool to use on someone to make them oblige to whatever you want them to do. Someone will definitely obey orders when they experience emotional blackmail, especially when their loved ones use it on them. I think that Emily thinks that she is using the right method to control her child because she don't know what is love. She has grew up living without a father and a mother and she had never experienced parental love. She thinks that she is showing her love to Richard, but she is not. Instead, she drives him to a corner and gives him no freedom. Therefore, he commited suicide. That is what i think emotional blackmail did to Richard.
